
 the thickness and the height determine how much air it can flow. this is known as the "charge face". the length and the height determine how much frontal area it will have. otherwise known as the "ambient air face"
the length also determines cooling. anything past 8" will cause pressure drop. so, your charge face has the smallest surface area. so it will flow the least.Your FMIC also has 16" inches worth of intercooler length that is doing more harm than good. to make use of all the wasted space of intercoolers like the apollo, I gave my fmic a vertical orientation. this gives it alot of flow with very little drop.

In other words, mine takes up the same space and flows twice as much. but that aside, stillen and greddy sidemounts still flow more than your apollo.
